Real Time Simulation of Load Frequency Control for Single Area Power System

SEEE DIGIBOOK ON ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY, VOL. 01, FEB 2018 PP.(110-112)
Abstract– This paper presents Real time simulation to analyze the behavior of Integral controller for Single area power system. This work focuses on minimizing steady state error, change in frequency of power plant by matching the output power of the generator with the change in load demand. This is achieved by providing Integral Controller which controls collectively the power input to the governor. Single area power system of 2GW capacity designed with integral controller has been simulated using MATLAB/Simulink and run with Real Time Simulator. It is observed that the steady state performance of change in frequency (∆f) is improved with Integral Controller.
